Summertime means burger time! Fire up the grill and try this amazing “Greek” inspired burger recipe, made with a delicious tzatziki sauce, perfect for your next summer cookout. When you add feta cheese to the meat mixture, it makes it even more juicy and adding collagen helps bind it all together even better. Just be sure you make the tzatziki sauce 30 minutes ahead of time to let it thicken.

Ingredients

Burger

  • 1 lb ground turkey or beef – grass fed
  • 1/3 cup feta cheese
  • 2 scoops just björn marine collagen
  • 1/3 cup sundried tomatoes, chopped (optional)
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 burger buns
  • Thinly sliced cucumber and lettuce

Tzatziki Sauce (Yields: 2 cups)

  • 3/4 English cucumber, grated – squeeze out the water
  • 1 tsp salt, divided
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • 1 tsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 cups plain Greek yogurt
  • Handful of chopped fresh mint
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
How to Make It — Burger
  1. Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl.
  2. Form 4 equal burger patties, make sure they are all the same size to cook evenly.
  3. Cook on a hot grill at medium high heat for 4-5 minutes per side or until internal temperature is 160F. Allow burgers to rest.
  4. Toast your burger bun, and top burger with Tzatziki sauce, thinly sliced cucumber, and lettuce.
How to Make It — Tzatziki sauce
  1. Mix 1/2 tsp of salt into the grated cucumber and let stand for a minute.
  2. Squeeze and drain the water from the grated cucumber and discard.
  3. Add all the ingredients into a large bowl and mix well.
  4. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
