If you are looking for a simple yet delicious pre-workout snack, my no bake date bar treats are just the thing. In Iceland we call them Döðlugott, which roughly translates into date treats. This is a mix of dates, crispy rice cereal, brown sugar, and butter + just björn marine collagen for protein. My kids go crazy when I make these!

Ingredients
- 3 ½ cups dates, pitted and roughly cut
- 1 cup + 2 tbsp of unsalted butter
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 4 scoops just björn marine collagen
- 6 cups Rice Krispies® cereal
- 1 ¾ cups of semi-sweet and milk chocolate chips
- 5 oz of finely chopped salt liquorish (Optional)
How to Make it
- In a sauce pan, melt butter and add the dates
- Add the brown sugar and melt until the dates are soft
- Mix in just björn marine collagen until well combined
- Pour the mixture into a large bowl and add the Rice Krispies®
- Add 5 oz of finely chopped salty liquorish into the mix ( Optional, I am from Iceland and we love our salty liquorish)
- Mix well together and put into square baking tray, freeze for 10 minutes
- Melt the chocolate using a double boiler or water bath and pour over the treat mix and spread evenly
- Put back into the freezer for about 30 minutes
- Cut into bite size pieces and enjoy
