Collagen and Why I Use It

I come from Iceland. I am a chef, an entrepreneur, a father, and a husband. I have always been an athlete. Since I can remember I have always had the strong need to be in sports, but my body has become pretty banged up through the years. I started working in fish factories from a young age and played competitive sports for many years. I have had broken bones, torn ligaments, bad joints, tired back and three shoulder surgeries.

In 2016 I was in my old hometown in Iceland, a fishing village, where some friends of mine told me their company was starting to produce this thing called Collagen from the skin of Icelandic wild caught Cod. They told me it was a miracle cure for bad joints and ligaments. At that time, I was not able to exercise very much and not at the intensity I wanted to. I started using Collagen every day and about 2 months in I started to notice a dramatic difference in my body. I was able to start exercising again and now I run, swim, and CrossFit every day and I link it all to my use of Collagen.

Collagen is the main structural protein found in the body and lack of collagen affects tissues such as joints, ligaments, and skin. Our natural collagen production starts to decrease in our mid 20's and it decreases faster in women. For example, by the time women reach the age of 50 they will have lost up to half of the Collagen in their body!

Many people supplement collagen for skin rejuvenation, but for me the biggest difference has been in my joints, ligaments, and gut. Collagen makes up the gut’s tissue and can help support and strengthen the protective lining of the digestive tract so my body can absorb all the nutrients from the food I eat, but also block bacteria and toxins to pass from the gut into the bloodstream.

Collagen has made a world of difference for me, and I hope you will try it as well for similar results. Send me a DM if you have any questions about my journey or my experience with Collagen.
